What is the authentic servant leadership award ceremony?

Beginning in 2014, the Authentic Servant Leadership Award is a distinguished honor presented to servant leaders, who are also founders of non-profits, business owners, and entertainers. The 12 men and women, who live and work on the East Coast, selected for this annual prestigious award will be recognized for their commitment to faith, work and economics, personally and professionally.

How did the ASLA begin?

Co-founder, Dr. Webb, identified a common theme in speaking with other entrepreneurs.  Many individuals are serving in their communities and places of worship with a social consciousness to create conditions for advancement and personal transformation. These individuals consisted of business owners, authors, founders of non-profits, pastors, elected officials, entertainers etc.

With this observation, Opportunity, Inc. was inspired to host this annual signature event honoring both men and women who are servant leaders in their communities, places of worship, and the marketplace, alike.

WHY DOES OPPORTUNITY, INC. HOST THE ASLA CEREMONY?

Opportunity, Inc.'s vision is to form alliances with like-minded entities with a focus on humanitarian actions and economic empowerment and achievement that addresses the lack of housing and employment.  We believe that entrepreneurs who also consider themselves as servant leaders are humanitarians that provide opportunities for others to be self-sustaining.

Honoring entrepreneurs and creating networking opportunities, such as the ASLA Ceremony, benefits the community at large.  It also showcases other entrepreneurs and the great services they are  providing others.

The ASLA Ceremony is for the start-up as well as the experienced business owner.  It is for the community activist and the pastor.  It is for those who lead by serving in their own authentic way.
